Snake River Cichlids is a Southern Idaho breeder and retailer specializing in freshwater African cichlids. Located near the Snake River, the company describes itself as the largest producer of African cichlids in the Northwestern United States. It breeds the fish it sells and offers Lake Malawi varieties, including peacocks, haps, mbunas, and OBs, as well as plecos and catfish. Customers can shop by species, size, and sex, or choose mystery fish, bundles, fish food, and gift cards.

The farm uses geothermal well water blended with cooler surface water to maintain suitable temperatures for tropical fish through Idaho winters. Its continuous flow-back system supplies fresh water and supports fish growth and health. For selected showcase fish, buyers can view photographs of the exact fish they will receive. Snake River Cichlids also highlights guarantees covering live, healthy fish, species, gender, and size, and ships through UPS Next Day Air. New showcase fish are added every Sunday at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.
