Tanabata Sky Lantern Festival is a large-scale summer event centered on the shared release of more than 3,000 LED sky lanterns, creating a night of light, wishes, and live music. The festival brings together traditional Tanabata themes and modern entertainment, inviting visitors to enjoy an atmospheric evening with family, friends, or loved ones. Across its venues in Saitama and Kyoto, the event offers live stage performances, food stalls, carnival games, Tanabata-inspired activities, fortune-telling, wish areas, and photo spots.

Guests can purchase standard or Anshin tickets, which include admission, one sky lantern, and stage viewing; Anshin tickets also provide a full refund if the event is canceled and may allow a date change within the same venue, subject to availability and deadlines. Food and games are charged separately. Admission is limited to reduce crowding, and late entry is allowed, with visitors encouraged to arrive in time for lantern distribution and instructions
