About snipcat.org
SNIP (Spay Neuter Impact Program) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the number of cats and kittens brought into animal shelters in Antioch, Martinez, and Pinole. This low-cost spay and neuter program was formed in collaboration with five animal welfare organizations and Contra Costa County Animal Services Department (CCCASD) in 2006. Inspired by the success of the Fix Our Ferals program, SNIP has admitted over 3,000 cats to its clinics to date.
The clinics, led by veterinary director Dr. Michael Barlia, are held at the Contra Costa County Animal Services Department Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Martinez. By offering affordable spay and neuter services, SNIP aims to help control the cat population and alleviate the strain on local animal shelters.
