SNJ

Suomen Noutajakoirajärjestö ry (SNJ) is Finland’s national umbrella organization for retrievers and people who enjoy working with them. It is also the breed organization for Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Curly-Coated Retrievers. With more than 6,000 members, two breed associations and over 20 other member organizations across Finland, SNJ connects retriever enthusiasts and supports activities nationwide.

The organization promotes retrievers’ original working purpose and encourages appreciation of the breeds as versatile hunting and hobby dogs. SNJ and its member associations offer training, working tests, trials and shows, as well as opportunities to meet and share activities with fellow enthusiasts. The organization provides information on retriever breeds, puppy acquisition, hunting and a broad range of dog sports, including working tests, tracking, agility, obedience, rally obedience, nosework and water rescue.

Its resources include event and trial calendars, regional training programs, training advice, puppy referral services for its two affiliated breeds, and publications such as the Nuusku magazine. SNJ also organizes events, supports its member associations and offers membership services.
