Foreningen Snorres Venner is a Norwegian association dedicated to promoting interest in the cultural heritage associated with Snorri Sturluson and the cultural connections between Iceland and Norway. Based in Bergen, the organization brings together members who share an interest in this history and seeks to make it accessible through events, outings and information on its website.
The association’s activities have included member trips to cultural and historical sites, such as Gulatinget and the Millennium Site at Flolid in Gulen, as well as a group visit to Gaularspelet. It also holds annual meetings, elects its board and shares news and articles through a blog. People interested in its work can find information about the association, its statutes and how to become a member.
The website also features a small online shop offering books related to Norse literature and history, including Ynglingesagaen and Den eldre edda. Through membership, events and publications, Foreningen Snorres Venner supports engagement with the shared cultural traditions of Norway and Iceland.
