About Snowpilot
**SnowPilot: Pioneering Snowpit Visualization for Avalanche Experts**
SnowPilot is an innovative, open-source web application designed for avalanche professionals, offering a robust platform for graphing, recording, and managing snowpit data. As a free software tool, SnowPilot allows users to create detailed snowpit profiles and securely save their data in a comprehensive database, facilitating future research and analysis. Users can print or download their snowpit data in various formats, including JPG, PNG, XML, and CAAML, while maintaining control over who can access their entries.
Aligned with the US Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Guidelines (SWAG) and the Canadian Observational Guidelines and Recording Standards for Snow (OGRS), SnowPilot ensures quality data collection through strict error-checking protocols. With a commitment to privacy, the platform collects no personal data and is free of advertisements. Since its inception, SnowPilot has significantly contributed to snow science, with its data featured in presentations at every International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) since 2004. Join the SnowPilot community to enhance knowledge on snow and avalanche dynamics!
