SOC Robotics is a leading brand specializing in smart embedded systems for industrial, commercial, and educational applications. The company, headquartered in North Vancouver, Canada, was founded over ten years ago by Stephen Swift and Michael McCrodan. SOC Robotics has expertise in combining embedded electronics with electromechanical subsystems to develop advanced robotic systems.

They offer a range of products and services, including embedded servers, motion control systems, smart sensors, and data acquisition systems. SOC Robotics is particularly known for their innovative Stuart Platform hexapod product, which uses six linear actuators (or rotary actuators) to enable six degrees of freedom for precise movement in three translation and three rotation axes. The company has recently collaborated with Simon Fraser University on a groundbreaking project called WALLAE.

This project combines the Stuart Platform hexapods with Inertial Measurement Units to develop a highly mobile walking platform. SOC Robotics is also working on a next-generation humanoid robot called Hexosapien, which utilizes WALLAE technology to create human-like motion. With a focus on research and development, SOC Robotics works closely with Simon Fraser University on advancements in actuators, limb positioning technology, and health sciences applications.

They have recently relocated to a larger facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as laser cutters, 3D printers, and a Raspberry PI development lab. SOC Robotics is committed to pushing the boundaries of robotics innovation
