Soca BJJ Academy brings Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Glen Cove on Long Island’s North Shore, welcoming children, adults, beginners, and experienced competitors. Founded in 2020, the academy teaches a core curriculum developed by coral belt Master Alexandre Soca Freitas, with instruction from Professors Ron and Cristian. Its approach emphasizes sound fundamentals, steady progression, respect, and skills earned through training.
Programs include beginner and advanced adult gi classes, no-gi submission grappling, and age-specific classes for Mini Grapplers, juniors, and teens. Students can build technique and conditioning, learn practical self-defense, and develop focus, discipline, confidence, and connections with teammates. Advanced students can pursue competition preparation, while beginners are guided at their own pace; no previous experience is required.
Soca BJJ Academy is affiliated with R1NG, an international competition-team alliance, giving students opportunities to represent a broader team at tournaments. The academy offers a free introductory class for prospective students and families, along with a published class schedule.
