About Social Justice Center
The Social Justice Center (SJC) is a hub for nonprofit organizations dedicated to social justice, providing them with office spaces and support to thrive in their missions. Established in 2000 by local Madison nonprofits, SJC offers affordable rent and essential office amenities to help smaller start-ups grow. The center includes an art gallery, meeting spaces, and a rain garden, fostering a collaborative environment for activists, artists, and community members.
Inspired by Nan Cheney, a prominent community organizer, SJC continues to empower local nonprofits to create a more just world. With a focus on shared governance and resources, SJC facilitates a space where organizations can access the support and services they need. Join us in our mission for social change.
