Softcrow

Softcrow provides software, SaaS and cloud escrow services designed to help organisations maintain business continuity if a software supplier fails, stops operating or can no longer provide maintenance. Acting as a trusted third party, the company securely holds source code, data and cloud environments for the benefit of customers and suppliers. Its services include Software Escrow, SaaS Escrow and CloudSecure®, which supports continuity of an entire cloud service. Softcrow also offers optional verification to assess whether a working version can be built from deposited materials.

Deposits are encrypted, stored using a zero-knowledge approach, and hosted in EU data centres. The beneficiary retains the encryption key and can access the deposit when agreed release conditions are met. Softcrow highlights its independence from US cloud and legal frameworks, protection of deposits in the event of insolvency, and release without dependence on its own software. Its escrow arrangements can support IT risk management and compliance efforts involving frameworks such as DORA, NIS2 and ISO 22301.
