About Sogin
Sogin is an Italian state-owned company responsible for decommissioning the country’s nuclear facilities and managing radioactive waste. Working alongside its group company Nucleco, it brings specialist expertise to the safe dismantling of nuclear installations and the protection of the sites where it operates. Its current work includes decommissioning four nuclear power plants, five facilities connected with the nuclear fuel cycle, and a research reactor, as well as managing radioactive waste.
Sogin’s services cover the full decommissioning cycle, from planning and design through implementation, waste management, and the safe handling of nuclear fuel. It also offers its experience to clients in Europe and Asia. A further focus is the planned National Repository and Technology Park, which is intended to provide secure disposal for very-low- and low-activity waste and temporary storage for medium- and high-activity waste.
