Sounds of Joy Project is a nonprofit organization based in McKinney, Texas, founded by a mother and son whose family experience with childhood cancer inspired a commitment to supporting survivors and their families. After Aamir overcame leukemia, the founders set out to celebrate childrenβs achievements, raise awareness, and offer hope to families facing treatment.
The organization creates meaningful experiences for children completing cancer treatment, including Ring the Bell celebrations that honor the moment a young survivor rings the Victory Bell. Its MOMs program raises awareness in schools and communities and supports mothers advocating for their children. MOMs also recognizes mothers with celebratory outings after their child completes treatment. Through DADs, the project offers youth cancer survivors mentorship, fellowship, and fun outings designed to build confidence and lasting friendships, while also honoring fathers for their support.
Sounds of Joy Project aims to turn difficult moments into educational, joyful, and lasting memories. Its work brings together survivors, families, schools, and communities through celebrations, outreach, and support.
