Soke Kinney Memorial

The Soke Kinney Memorial Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization honoring the life and work of Soke Michael Kinney, a martial artist, teacher, and community leader who devoted more than fifty years to martial arts. Based in the St. Petersburg, Florida, area, the fund continues his commitment to making martial arts education accessible to children and families.

Its central service is providing scholarships and financial assistance to students who want to study martial arts but cannot afford tuition. The organization reflects Kinney’s belief that the discipline, respect, and confidence developed through training should be available to every child. Donations support scholarship assistance for students in St. Petersburg and help sustain his legacy in the community where he spent the final three decades of his life.

The fund also shares Kinney’s story and brings people together through community events, including student gatherings and family activities. By connecting supporters, students, and local partners, the organization carries forward the educational and community impact of the martial arts program Kinney built.
