SOKOLIARI MAJSTRA VAGANA

Sokoliari Majstra Vagana is a falconry group and civic association founded in 2011, based primarily in the Spiš region of northern Slovakia. Its work combines the preservation of falconry, described by the group as an ancient craft and UNESCO cultural heritage, with environmental education and activities that support tourism. The association offers public demonstrations of falconry and the training of birds of prey, as well as seminars, talks, young falconers’ camps and an experiential-learning programme called Forest Kindergarten.

Its biological protection services use hunting birds to help protect cultural monuments, forests, agricultural crops, airports and urban areas, and include the capture of urban populations of pigeons, rooks and jackdaws. The group also presents the training of hunting dogs and organises canine events. It produces falconry equipment and has an online shop.

Through these activities, Sokoliari Majstra Vagana promotes awareness of birds of prey, supports children’s and young people’s environmental education, and works to preserve falconry traditions. The group shares updates on Facebook and Instagram
