Sola Flyklubb

Sola Flyklubb is one of Norway’s largest flying clubs, based at Stavanger Airport Sola. With more than 250 members, it brings together aspiring pilots, qualified aviators and people who share an interest in flying. The club operates its own declared flight training organisation, with instructors, aircraft and a hangar, and offers a pathway from first flight to pilot certification.

Newcomers can book a 50-minute introductory flight for 2,800 kroner. Participants take the controls under the guidance of an experienced instructor, making the flight a practical introduction to flying and a gift option. The club’s flight school provides theory and practical training, with instruction currently scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays. Its school fleet includes three Cessna 172 aircraft, one equipped with a G1000 system, and a Piper PA-28-161 Cherokee. Students may fly solo from age 16, and the club welcomes learners of all ages. Sola Flyklubb also supports existing pilots with membership and checkout on its aircraft, alongside club activities, safety resources and regular member gatherings.
