About Solar Team Eindhoven
Solar Team Eindhoven is a student-led innovation team from Eindhoven University of Technology, founded in 2012. Its 23 enthusiastic and ambitious students develop new solar-powered vehicles to demonstrate how mobility and energy can contribute to a sustainable future. Working beyond conventional market constraints, the team can explore ideas from the ground up and quickly turn technological innovation into practical concepts.
The team’s mission is to inspire society and industry to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility by showing the potential of vehicles powered by the sun. Solar panels can help vehicles become less dependent on charging infrastructure and support greater freedom of movement. Over the years, the team has developed six solar vehicles and is working on its seventh. Its projects include Stella Juva, a solar-powered ambulance designed to support energy-independent healthcare delivery; the team has tested its healthcare solution in Kenya.
Solar Team Eindhoven collaborates with TU/e and partners including Boerboom Hout, Amref Health Africa and NXP, drawing on expertise, facilities and engineering support.
