SHIELD Sights is a British manufacturer of compact red dot optics, founded on November 3, 1986, with roots in competitive shooting. Over four decades, the company has developed designs marketed under names including Firepoint, Tasco Optima, Trijicon RedDot, and JPoint, helping shape the modern pistol-mounted optics market. Its most influential contribution is the RMSc compact optic mounting footprint, now widely adopted by handgun manufacturers and other optics brands.
SHIELD Sights designs, manufactures, and assembles its products at its facility in Crewkerne, England. The company offers a full line of red dot optics and continues to advance compact optic technology while supporting shooters and industry partners. Its history combines British engineering and manufacturing with a focus on practical performance, making its products relevant to customers seeking compact sighting solutions for handguns.
The brand’s legacy reflects a longstanding role in the evolution of optics-ready handgun design, and its continued work is guided by a commitment to innovation and performance. Customers can find SHIELD Sights products through the company’s retail partners
