Solent Adaptive Ski Club

Solent Adaptive Ski Club is a volunteer-run, self-governing ski club based in Southampton, affiliated with Snowsport England and registered as a charity. Its mission is to make skiing more accessible by providing high-quality guidance that helps people with disabilities gain independence and enjoyment on the slopes. The club also supports all members in developing their skiing knowledge and skills.

Sessions are held on the second Sunday of each month, except August, at the Alpine Centre at Southampton’s Sports Centre. The club brings together qualified ski instructors, ski guides trained to SSCD standards, and other helpers, both qualified and unqualified. Members can also take part in on-snow training through the club’s annual ski experience, which has included a trip to Italy. In addition to its regular Southampton sessions, the club publicises occasional dry-slope sessions at Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre in Christchurch. Solent Adaptive Ski Club provides information about membership guidelines, safeguarding, welfare, accessibility, and volunteering, and invites prospective participants to contact the club before attending sessions so they can be managed safely.
