SOLID STRIDES

Solid Strides is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit equestrian organization based in Eugene, Oregon, focused on building an inclusive community of welcoming, supportive, and empowered riders. The organization works to reduce financial barriers and invite under-resourced communities, including Black, Indigenous, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ participants, into the equestrian world. Its programs include spring and fall day camps, summer week camps, and weekday riding lessons for children.

Solid Strides aims to provide a safe, positive environment where students develop riding skills and strong relationships with horses. Instruction extends beyond riding to include grooming, tacking, leading, groundwork, and observing horse behavior and movement. This holistic approach helps riders build confidence, responsibility, and an understanding of their equine partners.

The organization also emphasizes the importance of making equestrian experiences accessible and creating space for historically underrepresented communities to explore their interests. Solid Strides offers information about its programs and ways to get involved, and shares updates on camps, clinics, and events. Its work takes place on the traditional Indigenous homeland of the Kalapuya people.
