Solsoc is a Belgian nongovernmental organisation approved by the Belgian Development Cooperation to support sustainable development programmes in countries across the Global South. Rooted in the international solidarity work of the socialist movement, it partners with civil society organisations in Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Colombia, Morocco, Palestine, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Senegal. Its work aims to help people live with dignity and exercise their social, economic and political rights.
Through its partnerships, Solsoc promotes decent work, universal social protection, human rights, democracy and the social and solidarity economy. Programmes support workers, producers, young people and women through initiatives such as community health mutuals, employment creation, workers’ rights advocacy and social dialogue. Solsoc also helps strengthen partner organisations and networks so they can mobilise communities and advocate for change.
In Belgium, the organisation brings partners’ concerns to Belgian and European decision-makers and informs and engages the public on global justice and equitable North–South relations. People can support its work by donating, volunteering, organising events or joining campaigns.
