About Somatic Experiencing
Peter A Levine, PhD is the founder and developer of Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), a naturalistic and neurobiological approach to healing trauma. With over 50 years of experience, Dr. Levine has dedicated his career to understanding the roots of trauma and finding healing pathways.
His passion for natural phenomenon and understanding natural laws has guided him throughout his life and influenced the development of his body of work. Dr. Levine's work includes teaching SE™ to thousands of therapists and healers worldwide, and mentoring therapists as they pass on his legacy.
He is the founder and president of the Ergos Institute for Somatic Education, which focuses on community outreach and post-advanced SE™ training. He is also the founder and advisor for Somatic Experiencing International. Dr.
Levine is the author of several best-selling books on trauma, and his work has been taught to over 30,000 therapists in more than 42 countries. With a doctorate in Biophysics from UC Berkeley and a doctorate in Psychology from International University, Dr. Levine's expertise is highly regarded in the field of trauma healing.
He continues to teach trauma healing workshops internationally and serves as a Senior Fellow and consultant at The Meadows Addiction and Trauma Treatment Center
