Sommer Gardens is a Florida-based licensed nursery that boasts a rich history and specializes in hybrid brugmansia, commonly known as Angel Trumpets. Founded in 1976 by Fred Sommer, the nursery began as a small venture at a roadside citrus packing plant and eventually expanded into a comprehensive retailer offering landscaping and lawn maintenance services. Over the years, Sommer Gardens has cultivated a diverse collection of brugmansia varieties sourced globally and currently maintains an impressive hybridizing program with over 4,000 unique seedlings in development.

While the nursery is not open for public visits, enthusiasts can explore its offerings through an online store, where plants, cuttings, and seeds are available for purchase. Occasionally, Sommer Gardens participates in local plant shows and markets, showcasing its dedication to sharing these beautiful flowering plants. Fred Sommer’s enduring passion for gardening continues to flourish as he focuses solely on cultivating brugmansia, turning Sommer Gardens into a notable destination for plant lovers and collectors alike.
