Sommerkonsertene

Sommerkonsertene i Drøbak is a classical music concert series held at Drøbak Church, forming a central part of the town’s cultural life. Now in its twenty-first year, the series aims to offer concerts of high quality that are accessible to everyone. Its concerts are free, reflecting the founding goal of making classical music available to a broad audience.

The programme features Norwegian and international musicians, many of whom return to perform in the church. Built in 1776, Drøbak Church is a Baroque building known for its distinctive concert acoustics and provides an atmospheric setting for the performances. The series is initiated by Kantor Danuta Kozon and organised in collaboration with the municipality of Frogn.

Sommerkonsertene also connects with Drøbak’s wider cultural offering, which includes galleries, exhibitions, historic architecture, Oscarsborg Fortress, restaurants, a marina and beaches. By combining accomplished performers, an inviting venue and free admission, the concert series welcomes both local audiences and visitors to experience classical music as part of Drøbak’s vibrant cultural scene
