SomReP is a member-led resilience-building consortium known as the Somali Resilience Program. They are committed to strengthening the capacity of pastoralist, agro-pastoralist, fisherfolk, and peri-urban host and internally displaced persons communities. With a special focus on women, youth, and people with disabilities, SomReP aims to mitigate the impact of natural and man-made shocks, adapt to climate change, and promote sustainable livelihood strategies.

Working directly with communities and in partnership with government, local civil society, and the private sector, SomReP focuses on various areas such as disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, market systems development, and economic empowerment. Their initiatives also include safety nets strengthening, livestock and agricultural recovery, and social inclusion. SomReP hosts innovation platforms like the Somali Response Innovation Lab (SomRIL), Somali Livestock Insurance Consortium (SLIC), and Resilience Nexus Learning Action Network (RNLAN) to foster resilience-building innovations and utilize them throughout the Horn of Africa.

They celebrate their 10-year anniversary in 2022, having raised a significant amount of resources to reach 256,000 households and support them in buffering shocks, adapting to climate change, and transforming social and economic systems.
