Songtaba is a women’s rights organization established in 2005 and based in Ghana’s Northern Region. Guided by the belief that “where women rise, communities thrive,” it works to advance gender equality, protect the rights of women and children, and address discrimination and violence. Its mission is to build transformative, resilient communities through partnerships, collective advocacy, and grassroots action, with a vision of a society where underserved people can enjoy their fundamental human rights.

Songtaba’s programs support justice and active citizenship, helping women and young people claim their rights, participate in governance, and access fair community systems. It promotes quality, inclusive education through mentorship, sponsorship, and community action for girls and vulnerable learners. Its integrated health and WASH work includes menstrual health, adolescent wellbeing, and family health education. The organization also strengthens women’s and young people’s livelihoods through climate-smart practices and decent-work opportunities, while supporting peace, protection, dialogue, and social cohesion. Songtaba invites volunteers, donors, and partners to join its efforts across Northern Ghana.
