@sonk.ch
Our mission is to disseminate knowledge in oncology and make it accessible to a wide range of individuals. This noble mission traces its roots back to the early 1990s when Prof. Dr. med. Hans-Joerg Senn envisioned advancing oncological science and sharing it with the broader public. As the former head of the Department of Oncology and Hematology at the Cantonal Hospital St.Gallen, Switzerland, he keenly recognized the pivotal role of excellent seminars and conferences in disseminating knowledge and research findings in oncology.

About SONK
Stiftung für Onkologische Fortbildung und Kongresse (SONK) is a renowned foundation dedicated to advancing education and knowledge in the field of oncology. Founded by Prof. Dr. med. Hans-Joerg Senn in the early 1990s, SONK aims to make cutting-edge oncological information accessible to a wide audience. The foundation is best known for its flagship event, the St.Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference, which provides a critical platform for international experts to collaborate and share insights on best practices and innovations in cancer treatment.
In addition to breast cancer initiatives, SONK hosts various significant events such as the International Symposium on Supportive Care in Cancer and conferences on Clinical- and Chemoprevention. The foundation also nurtures the German-speaking European School of Oncology (deso), providing essential training and evidence-based practices to healthcare professionals in the region. Even after Prof. Senn's passing in January 2023, his vision continues to inspire SONK's ongoing commitment to improving cancer care and advancing oncological science globally.
