Sonoran Audubon Society

Sonoran Audubon Society is a community-focused organization serving Arizona’s West Valley and supporting birds, wildlife, and the habitats they depend on. Its mission is to educate and inspire people to protect and preserve these natural resources, while encouraging conservation, restoration, and biological diversity. The society has served the region since 1999.

Sonoran Audubon offers opportunities for people at every experience level to explore local birdlife and get involved. Its activities include in-person bird walks, field trips, special events, and the annual Christmas Bird Count. The website provides birding resources such as an Arizona bird checklist, guides to local hotspots, information about Arizona species, and trip reports.

The organization also supports conservation and education projects, including work on Important Bird Areas, the Western Rivers Action Network, bird-friendly communities, native plants, window-strike awareness, backyard birding, and reducing the effects of artificial light. Members and volunteers can help lead walks, educate the public, participate in projects, or contribute through membership and donations.
