Sonsbecker Spielewiese

Sonsbecker Spielewiese is a welcoming board game event in Sonsbeck, on the Lower Rhine, bringing together newcomers and experienced players for a relaxed day of games. Visitors can choose from more than 300 board games from the organizers’ private collection, spanning familiar favourites and newer titles, with options for casual players and enthusiasts of strategy, worker placement, engine-building and legacy games. Guests are also welcome to bring their own games, although the organizers cannot accept responsibility for them.

Game explainers are on hand to introduce titles and clarify the rules, making it easy for first-time players to join in. A “players wanted” board helps visitors find a group, while a flea market offers used games for purchase. Snacks, coffee, tea, soft drinks and ice cream are available for a small charge. The event welcomes all ages, though most games are recommended for ages 10 and up. Admission costs €3, and the venue offers tents and indoor spaces for shelter in bad weather.
