SONSHIP, short for Serving Overseas Nations by Ship, is an organisation dedicated to serving communities across the South Pacific island nations through ships, boats and sea transport. Its work focuses on meeting medical needs in the Solomon Islands, where access to hospitals and other services can be difficult for people living in remote areas. Through its Medisonships and medical tours, SONSHIP teams provide care, listen to patients’ concerns and help people reach further medical treatment when needed.

The vessels also carry emergency fuel, supporting urgent journeys when families cannot afford transport. SONSHIP’s work includes practical, compassionate assistance for people facing illness, disability or hardship, alongside prayer and personal support. The organisation also helps provide reading and sunglasses, with supplies supported by donations and contributions through its Op Shop in Morisset, Australia.

Staff, supporters and community partners all contribute to its mission. People can support SONSHIP by getting involved, donating needed items or funds, and helping the organisation continue its medical and transport work among island communities
