Sonzai Labs

Sonzai Labs Pte Ltd builds games and AI characters, with a focus on experiences that retain context across interactions. Its work includes Mind Layer, an open-source memory and personality system for AI assistants, characters, and agents. The standalone edition is licensed under Apache-2.

0, runs locally without a Sonzai account, and can be connected to a model. It stores facts and retrieves relevant memories for later conversations, with access through a REST API or Go library. Keyword retrieval works locally, while model replies and semantic search require a configured provider.

Sonzai also offers TeleMafia, a Telegram mafia role-playing game featuring shared family treasuries; the company developed the game and the contracts managing its family vaults. Pocket Souls provides AI companions with memories of conversations users share with them. Together, these projects reflect Sonzai’s interest in persistent context for interactive AI experiences.

Mind Layer is documented online and designed for developers who want to add conversational history to personal assistants, game characters, or agents
