Sopatas – School For Dogs is a canine education school that supports dog owners and families in building a balanced, positive relationship with their pets. Serving areas including Ermesinde, Maia, Matosinhos, Porto and Vila do Conde, the school welcomes dogs of all breeds, sizes, colours and ages. Its approach is based on positive reinforcement and rejects physical or aversive punishment, force, fear and pain.

Services include basic obedience training, behavioural modification, individual lessons and group classes. Obedience sessions teach practical commands such as “come,” “sit,” “down,” “stay” and “heel.” Group classes address puppy education and socialisation, social obedience for adult dogs, and impulse control and confidence for reactive dogs. Sopatas also offers daycare in a 5,000-square-metre outdoor space for play, exercise and socialisation under professional supervision, with adapted transport available.

The school emphasises helping owners understand and communicate effectively with their dogs. Its team brings canine-training and daycare experience, and the trainer’s work is informed by professional education, ongoing development and positive-reinforcement principles.
