SOR Vakantiekampen

SOR Vakantiekampen organizes summer holiday camps for primary-school children from Nijmegen and the surrounding area. For more than 60 years, the organization has provided welcoming, activity-filled weeks for children who could especially benefit from a holiday. Camp fees are kept as low as possible so that more children can take part.

Children can choose from age-based camps, staying in a cabin, tents, or a combination of the two. Camp locations are near Nijmegen, including St. Anthonis and Beuningen. Activities include swimming, campfires, games, karaoke, creative pursuits, bus trips, and excursions such as a “dropping,” a supervised outdoor navigation activity. The camps are led by experienced, enthusiastic volunteers.

SOR also invites adults who enjoy working with children, can collaborate, and have a week available in summer to volunteer as camp leaders. Families can find information about camp dates, costs, packing lists, and registration through the organization. For 2026, the Ontdekkers camp is planned for children aged 7–9, while the Pioniers camp is for ages 10–12; the Avonturiers camp will not take place that year.
