SOS Children's Villages Zambia is an affiliate of SOS Children's Villages International, established after World War II to support homeless children who had lost their families. Their aim is to provide a loving and secure home for every orphan and vulnerable child. Since 1999, SOS Children's Villages Zambia has been operating in the country, starting with their Family Based Care (FBC) program in Lusaka.

This program offers a long-term, permanent home environment for children who have lost their parents or cannot be adequately cared for by their families. Additionally, their Family Strengthening (FS) program reaches out to children in need within their original families and communities, providing assistance and building the capacity of caregivers and communities to address the challenges affecting children. SOS Zambia has expanded over the years, opening villages in Kitwe, Livingstone, and Chipata.
