SostegnoOvale

Sostegno Ovale ODV is an Italian nonprofit organization founded through the initiative of Rugby Colorno, parents and volunteers who believe sport can help people face life’s challenges. Inspired by rugby’s emphasis on mutual support, respect and teamwork, the organization uses sport as a tool for social inclusion and works to prevent youth hardship by mobilizing financial, cultural and human resources.

Its projects support young people and families in practical ways. The Filippo Cantoni Scholarships recognize young people for achievement in education, sport and social commitment, while “Adopt an Athlete, Support the Future” helps families experiencing financial difficulties keep children and teenagers aged 4 to 17 involved in rugby and attend Rugby Colorno’s summer camp. The Bufali Rossi Team offers opportunities for social connection to young people who have experienced psychological or psychiatric difficulties. Through “The Smile That Is Never Forgotten,” Sostegno Ovale also preserves the memory of Filippo Cantoni through related initiatives and events.
