The Soul City Institute for Social Justice is an intersectional feminist organization dedicated to ensuring substantive equality for girls, young women, and gender minorities. Their mission is to provide access to resources and opportunities that enable individuals to live fulfilling lives. Upholding the principles of the South African Constitution, the Institute focuses on rights such as healthcare access, reproductive healthcare, and freedom, dignity, and equality. They strive to eradicate poverty and promote equity for all through a human rights-based approach.

Through programs targeted at adolescents and youth, the Soul City Institute has driven social and behavioral change, positively impacting the lives of participants. Former members of the Soul Buddyz Club credit the program for preventing early pregnancies, while the Rise Young Women program has enhanced HIV testing, condom negotiation skills, and awareness of gender-based violence support services.

The Institute's work is made possible by the generous support of partners like the National Department of Health, Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, Ford Foundation, UNAIDS, and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). By amplifying voices, promoting agency, and fostering activism, the Soul City Institute aims to create a just society where girls, young women, and gender minorities can achieve their fullest potential and live with dignity.
