Sound Pollution is a Swedish independent music company and retailer focused on hard rock, heavy metal, punk, hardcore and other independent music. For more than 30 years, it has supported the establishment of Swedish and international artists in the underground music scene. Alongside its online shop, Sound Pollution operates a record store in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, which has served as a meeting point for fans of extreme and alternative music since the early 1990s.

The shop offers music across a broad range of styles, including death metal, black metal, grindcore, doom, stoner, goth, darkwave, rockabilly and synth. Its catalogue includes vinyl records, CDs and singles, with new releases and pre-orders alongside special and limited-edition pressings. Customers can also find official merchandise from many of the artists and record labels Sound Pollution works with.

Beyond retail, the company’s activities include music distribution, its own record labels, a promotion department, mail-order services and the publishing arm Sound Pollution Songs. Its guiding idea is “Independent music for independent people.”.
