SoundSport

SoundSport is a dynamic brand that provides a world-class stage for performance ensembles to experience the joy of the marching performing arts. As a program of Drum Corps International since 2013, SoundSport offers exciting performance opportunities for musical ensembles of all types, ages, and instruments, with a focus on promoting community music-making. SoundSport events showcase performance ensembles of any skill level and any age, emphasizing entertainment, education, and creativity.

From university, high school, and middle school marching bands to athletic bands, pep bands, and percussion ensembles, as well as independent drum & bugle corps, alumni corps, marching bands, and other community-based musical organizations, SoundSport welcomes all types of performers. Participating ensembles can have five or more performers and play any kind of instrument. The programs (shows) are 5 to 7 minutes long, with the option for movement or choreography.

The performance space provided is 20 yards deep by 30 yards wide, equivalent to a school gymnasium. SoundSport not only encourages community-based ensembles but also strives to keep participation costs low. They offer live competitive events held throughout the year in various indoor and outdoor settings, including DCI events, where entertainment-focused competitions take place in up-close performance venues.

Additionally, they provide virtual performance events that allow ensembles to receive valuable input and feedback from nationally-recognized performing arts education professionals.
