Souper Troopers is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping homeless individuals in the Western Cape region of South Africa. Our mission is to empower these individuals to make sustainable changes in their lives and provide them with the support they need to overcome homelessness. Our journey began in 2014, when our founder, Kerry Hoffman, spent a day sharing soup and sandwiches with people living on the street.

This experience opened our eyes to the complexity of homelessness and the shortcomings of existing interventions. Since then, we have been committed to providing individualized support to each person we encounter, with a focus on dignity, love, and respect. At Souper Troopers, we operate The Humanity Hub, a service center that addresses the holistic needs of homeless individuals.

From providing basic necessities like clothing, food, and toiletries, to offering counseling, skills training, medical referrals, and job preparation, we strive to address every aspect of an individual's well-being. In addition, our Souper Squad project aims to support soup kitchens and community feeding schemes across the Western Cape. During the COVID-19 lockdown, we raised over R1m and partnered with over 150 organizations and individuals to provide much-needed assistance.
