The South African Abalone Export Council is a voluntary, non-profit company that has been in operation since 2006. As the recognized and endorsed representative export council for the abalone sector, our goal is to assist and facilitate international business opportunities, export growth, and promote member brands. We aim to be a recognized council in the global abalone sector and a leader in the South African aquaculture industry.

Our council's mandate is to expand opportunities within existing and new markets, diversify abalone product offerings, and maintain South Africa's position in the global abalone sector. We provide credible industry and market information, execute consumer and export development activities, and offer industry support. Our core values include exclusivity, reliability, responsibility, and sustainability.

We strive to promote South African abalone by educating consumers and the trade, establishing it as a premium product, and assisting our members in creating their own brand in key markets. Through market development activities, we facilitate export growth, represent the sector in trade missions and international events, and provide market access resources for export strategy development. We also engage in generic promotions and brand building, networking, and facilitating trade leads and opportunities.
