About South Central Electric
Touchstone Energy is a trusted and member-owned brand that provides reliable and affordable electricity to its 4700 members in southern Minnesota. South Central Electric Association (SCEA), the rural electric cooperative, is dedicated to delivering safe power to the communities it serves in Watonwan, Cottonwood, Martin, Jackson, Brown, and Blue Earth counties. As a part of Touchstone Energy, SCEA receives power from various suppliers, including East River/Basin, Great River Energy, Alliant, and Western Area Power Administration (WAPA).
The cooperative mainly relies on East River for its power needs, but it also receives 18% of its power from WAPA, which is hydroelectric power sourced from the Missouri River. With a commitment to renewable energy, SCEA is proud to offer a 100% Renewable Program, along with generator sales, load management programs, and Touchstone Energy Savings initiatives. Furthermore, SCEA actively contributes to the community through Operation Round Up, scholarships, and the Youth Tour program.
