South Central Snows

South Central Snows Outfitters is a family-style guided hunting operation based in Keyesport, Illinois, serving hunters in the South Central Illinois region near Carlyle Lake. Owner Scott Gower and his experienced guides organize snow goose hunts across privately held locations, selecting sites and setups to suit local bird flight patterns. The outfitter also offers duck hunting, with lodging and meals featured among its services.

Its all-day guided snow goose package runs until 2:00 p.m. and is listed at $250 per person, with multi-day bookings available. Hunts take place from heated, steel pits surrounded by more than 4,000 full-body decoys and motion flyers. On hunt day, guests meet the team early for a safety briefing before traveling with a guide to the chosen location. The operation welcomes both seasoned hunters and newcomers, and client testimonials highlight its knowledgeable guides, comfortable pits, and attentive approach. South Central Snows presents its hunts as an opportunity to enjoy waterfowl hunting in a prominent Midwest setting.
