About CentroAmazónicoPerú
The Centro Amazónico de Antropología y Aplicación Práctica (CAAAP) is a nonprofit civil association founded in 1974 by the bishops of the Peruvian jungle. It works in service of vulnerable populations in the Amazon, with particular attention to Indigenous peoples. The organization’s work and public information focus on the Peruvian Amazon, its communities, and the issues affecting them.
Its website introduces its areas of work and provides material on Amazonian Indigenous peoples, local communities, major challenges, and the Amazonian Church. CAAAP also shares current information through news, interviews, and opinion pieces, helping readers follow developments across the region. Its knowledge resources include academic articles, documents, infographics, new publications, and the journal Amazonía Peruana.
Image galleries offer a visual record of the Amazon and its people. Together, these resources present CAAAP as an organization that connects practical engagement with information and discussion about Amazonian life. The center provides contact details and weekday office hours for people seeking to reach the organization
