About Southern Africa Food Lab
SAFL (Southern Africa Food Lab) is an innovative and influential brand dedicated to addressing complex social challenges in the southern African food system. They bring together diverse stakeholders, including civil society, government, and the private sector, to collaborate and find innovative solutions to food security issues. SAFL creates an effective platform for authentic communication and innovation by facilitating interaction and collaboration among stakeholders with conflicting interests.
Their approach involves using collaborative learning and facilitation methods to develop a systemic understanding of food security issues and design sustainable and equitable solutions. The Food Lab is housed under the Food Security Initiative at Stellenbosch University and receives support from the Faculty of AgriSciences. With the aim of inspiring change and responding to emergent risks, SAFL is committed to transforming the food system and ensuring a more sustainable and equitable future for all
