Southern Bird Hunters

The Southern Bird Hunters Association (SBHA) is a community organization dedicated to supporting bird-dog field trials and preserving the traditions surrounding the sport. Its mission is to strengthen what is good in field trials while helping future generations appreciate game-bird habitat, the partnership between handlers and their dogs, and the values of sportsmanship, friendship, and shared purpose. The association welcomes people who want to take part in this longstanding outdoor tradition.

SBHA provides information and resources for individual members and clubs, including membership and club applications, printable forms, rules and by-laws, regional contacts, photo and video galleries, and newsletters. Members and visitors can find upcoming trials, review archived events and results, search dog records, and follow points for dogs and handlers across several categories. The association also operates a futurity program, with details on nominated litters, standards, news, staff, and sponsors. It recognizes achievement through Dog of the Year and Handler of the Year awards.
