Southern Cross Flight Simulator Services is an aviation training provider based at Airpark Goolwa (YGWA) in South Australia, 34 nautical miles south of Adelaide International Airport. Led by Dave Holbourn, the service draws on his 50 years of instrument-rating renewals and experience in the RAAF and a major international airline. It offers instrument-rating renewals, recency training, coaching, and support for Instrument Proficiency Checks, aiming to make assessments professional and less stressful.

Training takes place in an ELITE AT11i CASA-certified flight training device, featuring a 220-degree wraparound visual system and a conventional six-pack instrument panel. The simulator can be configured for most single- and twin-engine aircraft, including the Beechcraft King Air and single-engine turboprops. Its equipment includes a real Garmin G430 GPS, interactive air traffic control, and systems for practising instrument approaches and navigation. The service can complete an IPC ground component and one instrument approach in the simulator. An examiner can conduct the airborne component by appointment, in a client’s aircraft or a locally available hire aircraft.
