Southern Freedivers

Southern Freedivers Inc. is a vibrant, non-profit spearfishing club located in Melbourne, dedicated to promoting safe, selective, and sustainable practices within the sport. With a growing membership of around seventy passionate individuals, the club proudly represents spearfishers beyond the metropolitan area, actively participating in the State-wide Recreational Fishing Round-table to enhance Victoria's recreational fishing landscape.

Safety is a top priority for Southern Freedivers, exemplified by initiatives such as the installation of dive flag awareness signs at key boat ramps and collaboration on national safety campaigns like 'Spearsafe.' The club offers regular meetings on the last Tuesday of each month at the Chelsea Heights Hotel, where newcomers are warmly welcomed to engage with seasoned members and explore the community.

In addition to meetings, Southern Freedivers hosts a calendar of diving and social events, ensuring a dynamic and supportive environment for both experienced spearfishers and novices alike. Join Southern Freedivers to dive into the world of spearfishing with a focus on safety and sustainability.
