Southern Parallel Campus

Southern Parallel Campus is a planned South Island development bringing together equestrian sport, horse breeding, education, and wellbeing. Its Southern Parallel Equine Centre (SPEC) is designed as an international-standard hub for breeding, training, competition, and equine care. Planned facilities include a sports horse stud, breeding clinic, veterinary hospital and research centre, stables, indoor and outdoor arenas, polo fields, and cross-country courses. The centre aims to support New Zealand’s equestrian sector, host regional and international events, and develop horses for disciplines including show jumping, hunting, and polo.

The campus also plans to establish the Southern Parallel Life Skills Academy, offering structured life-skills programs and higher education courses. Its intended participants include veterans, service personnel, para-athletes, and people with physical disabilities. Programs are expected to combine education, mental wellness, resilience training, equine therapy, sport, nutrition, and medical and physical support.

Additional plans include a gated residential estate, private health spa, gym, therapy suites, and dining facilities. Southern Parallel Campus also anticipates contributing to tourism, employment, and opportunities for local communities.
