The Southern Review of Books, a publication of the MFA program at Queens University of Charlotte, was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Committed to exploring contemporary literature from diverse voices in the American South and beyond, we deliver fresh book and film reviews, author interviews, and more weekly. Our distinctive cicada logo, named McCullers, was crafted by Charlotte's own Dan Stosich.
Proud partners of Bookshop. org, we champion independent bookstores over Amazon. As of 2023, our all-volunteer team maintains the publication, with plans for future compensation.
If you're keen on contributing by reviewing books or films, interviewing authors, or any other means, reach out to us at editors@southernreviewofbooks. com. We prioritize covering new releases promptly and ensure impartiality by avoiding conflicts of interest between our critics and authors.
