Southern Rivers Fly Fishing

Southern Rivers Fly Fishing is a Wānaka-based guiding company offering personalised fly-fishing and hunting adventures in New Zealand’s South Island. Its professional local guides draw on more than 20 years of experience and deep knowledge of the region’s rivers and ranges to introduce visitors to the outdoors with a focus on safety, conservation and respect for the land and wildlife.

Fishing options include single-day trips, overnight and multi-day adventures, women’s experiences, and helicopter-accessed outings to remote backcountry rivers. Groups are generally small, with trip formats for individuals, couples and parties of up to five. The company also offers an Ultimate South Island adventure combining helicopter flights, remote accommodation, wild food and guided outdoor activities.

For hunters, Southern Rivers arranges big-game trips with access to private high-country areas near Wānaka. Guests can pursue free-range red stag, fallow buck, Himalayan tahr and chamois. Experiences are tailored to participants, and some multi-day trips include food and accommodation.
