About South London Gallery
The South London Gallery (SLG) has been a free and open space for over 125 years, dedicated to bringing art to the people of south London. It offers a wide range of contemporary art exhibitions, film and performance events, as well as integrated education projects for children, young people, and adults. The gallery's diverse exhibitions showcase the best in international contemporary art and often feature artists who have rarely or never had a solo show in a London institution.
In addition, the SLG provides opportunities for artists to develop new work and exhibit through its residency program. The gallery is committed to fostering learning and participation, offering activities such as workshops, creative spaces for children, projects in local estates, provision for school visits, and programs for looked-after children. The SLG relies on the support of generous donors and funding bodies to continue its mission as a registered charity.
